About the city
Baotou is a prefecture-level city in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of northern China. Located along the Yellow River, it is one of the region's most important industrial centers, historically developed around iron and steel production and now known as a major rare earth and metallurgical base.
The city's economy is built on mining, rare earth processing, iron and steel, equipment manufacturing, energy, and construction materials. It also serves as a regional logistics and rail hub linking Inner Mongolia with northern and northwestern China.
For trade fairs and B2B travel, Baotou offers a compact industrial base with strong connections to mining, metallurgy, new materials, and heavy machinery. Its role as a regional commercial center makes it relevant for exhibitions and conventions serving northern China and cross-border trade with Mongolia.
