About the city
Ganzhou is a prefecture-level city in the southern part of Jiangxi Province, China. It is the largest administrative area in the province, bordering Fujian, Guangdong, and Hunan. Known as the 'Southern Gateway of Jiangxi', Ganzhou has a rich history as a key hub on the ancient Ganjiang River trade route and a significant center of the Chinese Soviet Republic in the 1930s. The city is renowned for its abundant mineral resources, particularly rare earths and tungsten, and is often called the 'World Capital of Tungsten'.
Economically, Ganzhou has evolved into a modern industrial base with strong sectors in non-ferrous metals, electronics, new energy, and agricultural processing, including navel oranges and tea. The city's strategic location has made it a logistics and transportation node connecting inland China with the Pearl River Delta and Southeast Asia. In recent years, Ganzhou has attracted investment in advanced manufacturing and has developed several industrial parks and economic development zones.
For business travelers and exhibition organizers, Ganzhou offers a growing convention infrastructure and a dynamic trade environment. The city hosts regional and national trade fairs, particularly in the fields of mining, electronics, and agriculture. Its improving transport links, including high-speed rail and an expanding airport, make it an accessible destination for B2B meetings and industry expos, while its unique industrial clusters provide valuable networking opportunities.
