About the city
Jiaxing is a prefecture-level city in the northern part of Zhejiang Province, located in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta, midway between Shanghai and Hangzhou. It administers a number of county-level cities and districts, including famous water towns such as Wuzhen and Xitang. The city is known for its rich history, natural scenery, and traditional culture, as well as for Nanhu Lake and the Red Boat, where the Communist Party of China was founded in 1921.
Economically, Jiaxing has a well-developed manufacturing sector, with key industries including textiles, chemicals, machinery, electronics, and new materials. Its economy is closely integrated with the Yangtze River Delta, benefiting from rapid transportation links to Shanghai and other major cities. Tourism also plays an important role, driven by the ancient water towns and cultural heritage sites.
For the exhibition and convention industry, Jiaxing offers a growing venue infrastructure and a strategic location that makes it a convenient destination for B2B travel. Business visitors can easily access the city from Shanghai or Hangzhou, and the local industry clusters provide opportunities for trade fairs and corporate events.
