About the city

Tangshan is a prefecture-level city in northeastern Hebei province, located near the southern edge of the Yan Mountains and close to the Bohai Sea coast. It forms part of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei economic region and has strong transport connections with Beijing and Tianjin. Tangshan is known as one of China's major heavy industrial bases, with strengths in steel production, machinery, building materials, ceramics, and chemicals.
