About venue
Chengdu International Exhibition & Convention Center (CIECC), also known as Shawan Exhibition Center, is a landmark convention and exhibition complex situated in the Jinniu District of Chengdu, Sichuan. Occupying a site area of 150 mu (approximately 100,000 sqm) with a total building area of 230,000 sqm, the venue was developed as a key municipal project with a joint investment of 1.4 billion RMB by the Chengdu Municipal Government and the American California Group. As one of the earliest modern exhibition centers in Chengdu, it played a pivotal role in establishing the city as a major trade fair destination in western China.
The facility features multiple exhibition halls, conference rooms, and supporting infrastructure designed to accommodate a wide range of events, including trade shows, consumer exhibitions, corporate meetings, and cultural performances. Its central location on Shawan Road provides convenient access to the city’s transportation network and business districts. Over the years, CIECC has hosted numerous prestigious national and international events, contributing significantly to the local economy and the development of the exhibition industry in Sichuan.
Despite the emergence of newer and larger venues in Chengdu, such as the Western China International Expo City, CIECC remains an important part of the city’s exhibition landscape. Its historic significance and established reputation continue to attract organizers seeking a proven location with a long track record of successful events.
