The National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC), located at No. 333 Songze Avenue in Shanghai’s Qingpu District, is one of the world’s largest exhibition complexes. Opened in 2015, the venue is strategically positioned near the Hongqiao transportation hub, providing seamless access via high-speed rail, metro lines, and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. Its distinctive four-leaf clover design houses four massive exhibition halls, each capable of hosting large-scale trade fairs, consumer shows, and international conferences. The center also integrates a shopping mall (NECC Plaza), office towers, and a hotel, making it a self-contained destination for business and leisure.

With a total indoor exhibition area exceeding 400,000 square meters and a net exhibition space of 180,000 square meters in its main halls, the NECC is a flagship venue for China’s exhibition industry. It is best known as the permanent host of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), but also regularly accommodates automotive shows, industrial technology fairs, and cultural exhibitions. The venue’s modern infrastructure includes advanced logistics, catering, and conference facilities, supporting events of virtually any scale.

The NECC plays a pivotal role in Shanghai’s ambition to become a global MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) hub. Its sheer size and connectivity attract organizers from around the world, and it consistently ranks among the top convention centers globally.
